Recipient of the Margaret Mahy Award, Maurice Gee is one of New Zealand’s best-loved writers. Under the Mountain was adapted for a 1981 television mini-series and a 2009 film. Now, Pip Hall (Why Does Love?, The 53rd Victim, Shudder, The Woman Who Loved a Mountain), is bringing one of Aotearoa’s favourite novels to the stage in a contemporary adaption.
This New Zealand premiere production will be directed by Sara Brodie, whose spectacular stage skills were last seen in Auckland Theatre Company’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
